An eSIM (embedded SIM) is a digital SIM built into your phone. Instead of inserting a physical SIM card, you download a data plan directly to your device. It works the same way as a regular SIM — you just don’t need the physical card.

Can I use an eSIM and a physical SIM at the same time?

Yes. Most modern phones support dual SIM — your regular SIM stays in for calls and texts, while the eSIM handles your data abroad. You don’t need to remove anything.

Do I need to remove my physical SIM?

No. Your eSIM runs alongside your existing SIM. Just make sure you turn off data roaming on your regular SIM to avoid carrier charges, and use the eSIM for data instead.

Is an eSIM the same as my phone’s built-in SIM?

If your phone supports eSIM, it has the hardware already built in. You just need to download a plan to it — that’s what Roamly provides.
