After purchasing your eSIM, follow these steps to install it on your Android device. Make sure you’re connected to WiFi before starting.

Steps

  1. Log in to Roamly and go to My eSIMs.
  2. Tap on your eSIM to open the details page.
  3. Tap “Add to Android” and follow the on-screen prompts.
  4. Label your eSIM — Give it a recognisable name so you can identify it in your settings.
  5. Keep your eSIM turned off until you arrive at your destination. Activating early may start the validity countdown.

Alternative: QR code method

If you want to install the eSIM on a different device:
  1. Go to your eSIM details page on Roamly.
  2. Tap “Scan QR Code” to display the QR code.
  3. On the target Android device, go to Settings > Network & Internet > SIMs > Add eSIM.
  4. Tap “Scan QR code” and scan the code displayed on your screen.
Note: The exact menu path may vary slightly depending on your phone manufacturer (Samsung, Google, OnePlus, etc.).

Tips

  • Install before you travel while you’re on WiFi at home.
  • Don’t activate early — Most plans start their validity period when you first connect to a network at your destination.
  • WiFi required — You need an internet connection to download the eSIM profile.
  • Device must be unlocked — If your phone is locked to a carrier, you won’t be able to install third-party eSIMs.

After installation

Your eSIM will appear in Settings > Network & Internet > SIMs. Keep it toggled off until you arrive. When you land, enable it and select it as your data SIM.
